    《简明西方文化史》供学习和了解西方文化史的学生和对西方文化传统感兴趣的读者使用，其内容涵盖了西方文化及文明研究中的核心主题、重大事件、代表性历史人物的介绍和评价。《简明西方文化史》分为引言和三个主要部分：引言为介绍部分，包括编者撰写的关于西方文化演化的主题和重大事件的回顾与评述；第一部分为主要宏观概念、重大事件及人物、权威学者关于文化研究的论述摘要；第二部分为案例研究部分。选择几位犹太民族代表性人物作为案例研究是遵循西方文化史研究中关于“双希”假设的范例，力图展示犹太文明在西方文明发展进程中的奠基和基因式作用；第三部分是专为本书设计的练习题及测试题，包括关于西方文化发展历程的判断题及相关的思考测试题，旨在帮助读者和学习者进一步巩固所学到的知识及概念并做更深入的思考。
